New projects

Let's make something great together

Join our team

Hyperkind is an evolution of a long-standing practice, shaped into a more intentional form. We are a deliberately small team, supported by a trusted ecosystem of specialist partners — and ambitious in the scale and impact of the work we take on.

We are looking for people who enjoy thinking alongside clients, beyond just delivering to a brief. The work here often involves helping organisations understand what is possible, make better decisions, and move with confidence through unfamiliar territory.

If you are curious, happy explaining your thinking, and motivated by work that values judgement as much as craft, Hyperkind might just be the place you're looking for.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Lead to guide our development team and maintain strong technical direction across projects. This role balances hands-on delivery (50%) with architectural oversight, mentoring senior developers, and shaping pragmatic solutions that meet real delivery constraints.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide clear technical direction across active work while contributing directly to Drupal and modern Javascript development.
  • Support planning and risk management, maintain architectural consistency, and step in when delivery challenges require senior technical leadership.
  • Lead technical content for to proposals and documentation, strengthen standards and processes, and coach senior developers toward sound implementation decisions.

What we’re looking for

  • Senior software engineer with 8+ years experience (commercial) and proven hands-on expertise in Drupal and modern Javascript systems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading senior developers or technical teams, with strong architectural judgement and the ability to simplify complex solutions while maintaining broader oversight.
  • Strong written communication for technical proposals and documentation.
  • Candid verbal communication, raising risks early, take ownership through to resolution, and operate with sound commercial judgement across scope, cost, and quality constraints.

Desirable (optional)

  • Experience in a digital agency or consultancy environment
  • Exposure to infrastructure, hosting, and DevOps decisions
  • History improving delivery processes or technical standards

Potential to grow into Technical Director role.

What you’ll get with us

  • Collaborative, experienced team working across a wide range of Drupal-focused projects, from large applications to smaller creative builds.
  • Casual, flexible, mostly remote environment (1 day co-working), open decision-making, and a strong focus on learning, continuous improvement, and mastery of craft.
  • Drupal 11, PHP 8, and Javascript/React stack, supported by cloud-hosted infrastructure, containerised workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and pragmatic adoption of modern tooling where it improves delivery.
