Creating a safer digital environment for young Australians
How do you deliver critical online safety education while supporting real-time program coordination for 1,000+ presenters?
ThinkUKnow
We worked with the Australian Federal Police to reimagine the digital experience for ThinkUKnow, a national online child safety education program. Together, we delivered a user-centred Drupal platform that supports real-time reporting, personalised dashboards, and streamlined program delivery for diverse stakeholders.
Purpose
ThinkUKnow exists to equip young Australians, parents, and educators with practical knowledge and tools to navigate online risks - creating safer digital spaces and strengthening community trust in the digital world.
Challenge
The AFP’s Online Child Safety Team needed to modernise ThinkUKnow’s digital presence to support over 1,000 presenters, deliver real-time program insights, and reaffirm its authority in a crowded digital safety landscape - while meeting the evolving needs of its national audience.
We delivered a scalable, accessible online platform that uplifts child safety education for diverse communities nationwide.
Highlights
- The custom presenter portal gives over 1,000 users real-time booking and reporting tools for streamlined program delivery.
- Individual dashboards personalise the experience, making navigation and resource access clear for educators and parents alike.
- Real-time statistics now inform both performance tracking and transparent program reporting, supporting evidence-based decisions.
Accessible design for every user
The redesigned ThinkUKnow website offers clear navigation and accessible structures, making it straightforward for parents, educators, and presenters to find relevant information. This approach ensures the platform is inclusive, supporting a wide range of abilities and digital confidence levels.
Real-time insights for program improvement
A custom presenter portal now provides real-time reporting and booking tools. This feature supports over 1,000 active users, enabling the AFP to coordinate outreach and gather evidence for ongoing program improvement.
Stronger engagement with the mission
Feedback shows increased bookings, downloads, and return visits. These results demonstrate the site’s success in connecting users to the program’s purpose and expanding its reach across Australia.
Single source of truth
The new website consolidates resources and updates, serving as a trusted, central hub for the national program. This clarity reduces confusion and supports consistent, high-quality delivery of online safety education.
